I know its a last minute thing, and honestly when i was told that the cheque from sponsors are finally in (thanks so much to a friend who has helped so much to get this sponsor), i was like "its mission impossible!"

But this is a challenge! a challenge that if i could get the max of 150 participants!

SCC Grand Prix Serie D - 23/9/2012 (Results)

Ok, SCC Grand Prix Serie D has ended! (phew!), we have our new finalists to add to our current Finalists from Serie A, B, and C. My thanks to all that participate in the event, to all players, parents, and guardians that has made the each and every SCC GP a success!

It was a gloomy day before the start of the event, as we received bad news. One of our PCDK ajk - Puan Hamidah has lost her dear and loving husband last Thursday. But her kids who started chess since January 2012, refused to give up on chess, and instead opted to take part in the event (to Muhd Harith Farhan, and Muhd Harith Fahmi, its a blessed to see you two holding up and strong for your Mama), and to my surprise they play their best chess ever!

Ok, back to SCC Serie D. 

Top 5, are banned from taking part in any SCC GP series 2012, we shall see you in the Finale in Dec 2012. While for the Juniors, the selected players will be chosen to play after all the series concluded. 

Congratulations to all the winners from all of us at the PCDK and SCC.

Fifth place - Sharif Mohd Zaki (finally after 4 tries in GP Series, he finally made it to Finale list)

Fourth place - another lady in the Finale - Nur Farhana Atiqah originally from Johor, but further study in UMP.

Our Finalist - Third place, Muhd Husaini Hasnul who hail from Kedah, but studying at Universiti Malaysia Pahang.

Best U12 - Meor Airil Rahimi aged 11 years old.

Second place - Muhd Syazwan Zulkifli from Terengganu

Our SCC Serie D champion - Abd Haq Mohamed who came all the way from Shah Alam.

Deeply sorry for the late posting, I have been busy arranging for the event, entertaining calls and sms that I completely forgot that I have yet to post the Tournament Info in this blog! (What lah!)

Ok here are the details :

Tournament : SCC Grand Prix Serie D
Day : Sunday

Venue : Setia Chess Centre, tingkat 1 Jalan Lim Hoe Lek Kuantan Pahang (opposite Stadium Darulmakmur, near the LA Hotel building, one the 1st floor of Perfect Car Accessories)
Fee : RM25 for non member, RM15 for PCDK member
Round : 6 rounds
Time Control : 20 min + 10 seconds increment

TOP 5 WILL BE INVITED EXCLUSIVELY TO JOIN THE OTHER FINALISTS FROM THE OTHER SERIES ALONGSIDE 5 SELECTED PROMISING JUNIORS TO OUR GRAND FINALE WHICH WILL BE HELD IN DECEMBER!

**We are making plans and proposal to have our 2nd FINALE in Vistana Hotel Kuantan, as part of celebrating our finalists and introducing our new PCDK patron to the audiens. Fingers crossed!**

And btw, it is a good training ground to those juniors below the age of 20 years, because our Kuantan Master Rapid Junior is back!! Tentative date will be on the 21st October 2012

For those above the age of 20, dont worry, coz you wont be forgotten as PCDK is making plans to have our Kuantan Open Team in early January 2013!

For this Serie C, the good news is that after the conclusion of Team event for Secondary and Primary school last 2 weeks, i get more response from Parents and school kids regarding chess events in Kuantan. The champion - SK Batu Tiga A with team members of Muhd Hazid Ekquan, Ariff Imran, Nur Fatin Farzana, Mardhiatul Atiqah. They score 24 points. Congrats.
