Kuantan Rapid Grand Finale Kali Pertama 2011

Finally! pejam celik pejam celik je.. dah pun masuk bulan Disember 2011. Dulu rasa nak ke bulan Disember tu macam lambat je lagi pada masa SCC merancang kejohanan SCC Grand Prix yang pertama pada bulan Februari yang lalu... selama 5 series SCC yang kami jayakan, maka terhasillah 25 finalist beserta 9 pemain remaja.

Pemilihan pemain remaja adalah berdasarkan persembahan terbaik sepanjang Finale. Sepatutnya hanya 5 sahaja yang dipilih, tetapi kerana kesuntukan masa untuk mengadakan pemilihan, jadi untuk Finale kali pertama ini kami benarkan 9 pemain remaja beraksi. Agak rugi juga kalau kami tidak memilih kesemua remaja, sedangkan tujuan utama Finale diwujudkan adalah untuk memberikan remaja-remaja ini peluang bersaing dengan pemain Senior dan meraih pengalaman berharga.

Pihak SCC menemui kesukaran untuk berhubung dengan sesetengah FINALIST kerana tidak mempunyai contact number. Antara FINALIST yang tiada dalam senarai contact ialah NOOR AHMAD FADZILAH, SUHAIDI MUSTAFA, ALI AKHBAR KUNING, ABDUL KHALID MUSA, MOHD HAMIDI TAIB, dan ABDUL RAHIM RAMLI. Sila berhubung segera kerana jika ada yang menarik diri kami perlu membuka jemputan kepada peserta yang menduduki ranking seterusnya di Serie yang berkenaan. Jika pemain remaja yang menarik diri, tiada jemputan akan dibuka kecuali terdapat angka ganjil peserta.

FINALE akan berlangsung selama sehari pada 24 DISEMBER 2011 di SCC jalan Lim Hoe Lek Kuantan, dan pusingan pertama bermula seawal jam 9 pagi. Makan pagi, makan tengahari dan minum petang akan disediakan sepanjang FINALE berlangsung. Chief Arbiter kejohanan adalah En Najib Wahab (candidate FIDE Arbiter).

Currently i am at Petronas Training Centre f.k.a. PERMATA at Bangi, being appointed as the arbiter for the event together with my bro Kamal.

Though chess is not a popular sport at Petronas with only 4 teams taking part (EXPRO, CORPORATE, MARITIME and OIL), but the presents of regular local players (like Irman Ibrahim, Tun Sri Lanang, and few others) is enough to give the impact of this event.

Not to mention during the every tuesday DATCC chess league, petronas are with 2 teams taking part!

SCC Finale 2011 - The Selected Juniors

I have been having difficult time to select juniors to play in the Finale, mainly because I have 9 names in hand, but only 5 spot to fill in.

And I am having difficulty too because we dont have the time to hold the selection event. We are planning to have it on the 3rd December 2011, since it is the only available date, but who knows.. maybe i just include all the 9 juniors to be in the Finale, and have all 34 finalists.

The date of the Finale is scheduled on 24th December 2011 at SCC (my initial plan was to have it at a hotel, but since the robbery incident took place a month ago, i decided to cut cost and have it at SCC instead). I will make sure all the finalists to be as comfortable as much as I could at the centre, meaning refreshments will be provided for free at the centre.

Those who hails from outside of Kuantan and wish to have a place to stay, just let me know, i can try book a place for you at a nearby hotel. Around the SCC itself, we have the LA Hotel, next to it is a budget hotel, and next to that is Luxury Hotel. Or if you wish to stay in group, there's a homestay just behind the SCC.

I am looking forward for the Finale, not just as a player but as an organiser myself this is the first event that I organised that recognise the best of the best! The success of this event, will mean more tournaments and ideas coming up next for year 2012!

SCC GP Serie E 22/10/2011 - The Results!

Finally, the GP has ended with Serie E closing the curtain later today. It was an intense moment for some players that have been trying since the beginning serie A to make it to the finale but like any other series anything could happen. And there were surprises and upsets towards the last rounds too.

My thank you to all of you for your support in making the GP the most awaited series to compete. And my congratulation to the winners that complete the list of 25 finalists today.

Pintu ini dibuka oleh pencuri terbabit. Pandai pula pencuri ini menggunakan bata bagi memudahkan urusan memunggah barang-barang yang dicuri. Walaupun kecurian yang kami laporkan mencecah ribuan ringgit juga, namun Alhamdullillah, tiada kemalangan jiwa dan kecurian barang yang amat kami sayangi iaitu set catur dan jam catur dgt 2010 yang kami letakkan di centre.

Printer Samsung laser jet yang kami beli pada tahun 2009, masih lagi berfungsi dengan baik dan cukup laju yang kami selalu gunakan pada setiap kejohanan catur di Kuantan ini. Siapa sangka printer yang agak mahal toner inipun hendak dicuri. Namun kami rasa pencuri senang untuk mencuri printer ini kerana kami meletakkannya dalam kotak, digunakan cuma bila Serie-serie GP berlangsung. Kami juga amat merasai kehilangan CPU yang telah diupgrade dengan cukup baik sekali, berserta speaker box yang kami selalu gunakan tiapkali kami menonton video catur dengan menggunakan LCD Projector di centre.

Ya betul tidak dinafikan kami agak trauma dan terkilan yang amat kerana untuk memperoleh barang yang dicuri terbabit memakan masa dan wang ringgit yang pada kami bukanlah sedikit jumlahnya. Namun kami bersyukur ke hadrat ilahi... ALHAMDULLILAH... ternyata ALLAH SWT itu Maha Kaya, Maha Adil. Bila difikir-fikirkan kembali, amatlah pelik kerana gelagat barang yang digeledah seolah-olah pencuri tersebut ingin kembali mencuri lagi banyak barang kerana kotak air mineral dan kotak hadiah serie E di letak disisi beg yang berisi jam catur dgt (beg tersebut dibuka pencuri terbabit). Kami percaya Tuhan itu Maha Adil bila diwujudkannya gangguan kepada pencuri untuk tidak nampak kepentingan jam dgt, projector dan satu lagi printer yang terletak elok diatas meja, juga set catur yang baru kami beli yang bakal digunakan pada finale nanti.

Dan Alhamdulillah juga, SCC Serie E akan dijadualkan seperti biasa kerana hadiah yang dibeli tidak dicuri oleh pencuri (ini juga satu misteri bagi kami kerana barang ini tidak berusik, namun kuasa ALLAH SWT tiada siapa boleh menduga).

Kami tetap bersemangat untuk menjayakan Serie E, dan Finale disember nanti, cuma untuk kejohanan berpasukan liga yang kami rancangkan terpaksa ditangguhkan kerana kami perlu beri keutamaan memasang pintu yang baru, kunci yang baru serta peralatan printer dan CPU yang baru di centre. Kami harap peminat catur di Kuantan tetap menyokong SCC dan bersabar dengan kejadian yang menimpa SCC. Harap maklum.

Blitz at DATCC 9/10/2011

IM Mas with a perfect score after round 12. Another 3 more rounds to go!

And IM Mas won the Blitz with 14 points from 15 rounds, he drew twice with Mustafa Said (pic above) and Sri Shiva Kumar. Second was CM Fadli Zakaria and 3rd place was Zaidan Zulkipli.

I took part too in this competition (i guess now i am addicted to Blitz), not doing well though, it is pretty bad actually to lost 6 games. I lost to Mas, Abd Shukor, Fadli, Najib, Ezmi, and Jax.. But since the tourney will be a once a month thing, I will make sure to have my revenge next (hahaha.. payback time!)

U8 Winners At DATCC

I am at Datcc to discuss something about SCC Finale with ths chief, saw the games of U8 still ongoing, therefore waited for the closing ceremony.

I guess they are all having fun at the tourney coz to see the kids playing and running at the same time is something rare in any event..

The registration is still open for the Last Grand Prix which is Serie E to be held on 22/10/2011 - Saturday at SCC! Hurry up and register now!

We are looking for another 5 finalists and another 5 juniors/ladies to fill in the remaining spot!

Terms and condition still remain the same as our previous GP Series.

Top 5 will be invited exclusively to play in the Grand Finale which is to be held on 24th December 2011!
