Officially the team for Merdeka Rapid Team this year is 66 teams! A huge number of team comprises of GMs too and IMs. I guess during the DATMO, there are few people scouting for team members to be ranging from those highly FIDE rated players.... and including us, the Astro Ladies team, one of our member is a ＷＩＭNafisa Muminova a very talented player from Uzbekistan..
Also taking part are GM Rogelio Antonio, who misses the DATMO, but playing in the team event for the filipinos team. there are more than 4 filipino teams, one Irinian team, I think 4 indonesian team, and several mixed teams ranging from titled players of GMs, IMs, FMs...
The opening ceremony of Merdeka Team was officiated by Dato' Shabery Chik, our sports minister. He also played one game with Dato' Tan after the opening ceremony. I forgot to take note the results of them. I took many photos of the event, but I will upload the photos later.
