It was a nice turnouts of players, originally I might have 48 players but it the end it turn out well with 44 players played (phew!)

As usual, all top five will be banned from taking part in any GP series. And will be invited exclusively to the Grand Finale on 24th December 2011. And what do you know, I might have all of the finalist with national ratings! I guess this will be my first event that i hosted with so many rated players in it.

Lost My Handphone....

I am terribly sorry for readers who have been waiting for the results. I have been down these 24 hours with the sadness of losing my handphone. I know it is a simple Nokia, and I can just buy that instantly, but to me that handphone is everything, not just it is a gift from my bro, it has all my students and potentials local players to my tournaments, it has messages as evidence of so many things that going on from office, friends and family, it has pic of me and my family in it and I love that number (have been using the same number ever since i started using handphone)... I know people can say that I should be patience and that things happened for a reason.. I know, and maybe I am over-reacting over the lost of the phone.. I dont know, there's too many feelings at the same time... and it became stronger when i lost the handphone..

Those who wish to register for the coming Serie E this 22nd Oct 2011, hold that thoughts for a while, I will post new number in the blog after consulting with my brother Khair.

SCC GP Serie D - 23/7/2011

I have few players on standby list asking to join the event tomorrow.. it is very hard to decline... because as a player i can understand how they feel. It is heartbroken to say NO to anyone that love the game as much as i do.. I am trying hard to accomodate all of you.. Because the reason why i set up the centre, and do the tournament is - because all of you.

But please.. NEXT TIME.. for our final series - SERIE E (22/10/2011), kindly register EARLY.. I cant take it anymore to say NO again.. and again.. and again.. huhuhu..

Kindly be at the centre before 9am, and we will see if i can put your name in or not. No promises, but i am trying the best that i can.. InsyaALLAH!

We have closed the registration, for those who register after this the registration will be carried forward to our final series (Serie E). The number of participants has exceed the limited space, but I will try to squeez places and to accomodate all.

My apology that i started the campaign late and resulted hickup with too many people register last minute while only few places left.

FIDE Arbiter Seminar - The Result!

And what do you know.. hahaha.. I passed!! found it weeks ago.. 1st I received an email from Collin, then I browse the Fide website, then after that the news was all over the blogs (hairulov, datcc blog, etc).. including MCF site!

What is next after the FA norm? I guess now is the time to fill in some forms and submit to FIDE. I hope i get the FA title soonest (coz i officially already earned 2 norms, third norm should be around my belt coz i have been the deputy arbiter of more than 3 FIDE rated events here in Malaysia), coz after that... its IA pursuit next in line! hahaha...

totally in cloud nine now!! yeay!

Experience at SMK Hillcrest..

Decided to meet my best friend at her place in Bukit Jelutong Shah Alam, because of the Perhimpunan Bersih on the 9th July 2010. I thought if i depart at noon, i would not have a problem reaching her place on time. But who would have thought, i would get stranded.. huhu. At first I was stopped by policeman at Tol Bentong, fortunately when they saw a woman driving alone, it took them only seconds to let me through.. (i do saw few other men in cars were pulled aside and being investigated at the roadside). But heavy traffic for me as i arrived at Tol Gombak..

I got stranded here for about 40-45 minutes... and scary too when all of us were jammed on the same roadside with all the buses and heavy trucks!

After that the road to Shah Alam was perfectly smooth! But again, as i reached Exit Shah Alam, I got stranded again.. for about 20 minutes.... stay in KL until after dinner and spend splendid time with my god daughter (she is going to be 4 years in few days). Then went straight to Bangi to meet with another friend and spend the night there.

Early morning at 7am i am off to SMK Hillcrest! Arrived there safely at juz before 8am and meet up with other arbiters - Kaber, Marcus, Haslindah, Nik Farouqi, Nur Farhana and chief Arbiter - Mok Tze Meng. Also saw Gilachess there too. Later I heard Sufiah and Cikgu Zullkafli were the arbiter for U15B and U18B. At first I was hoping that i could be arbiter for those U9 or U12..I know it is hectic being them but, I was looking forward to educate these kids (most definitely they are going to make mistakes like illegal move, wrong setup of chess pieces.. etc). But it seems that Marcus and Kaber are well prepared for the kids. So it seems that U15G and U18G are the places for me. I took Nur Farhana along with me to handle these categories, I am doing U18G and she did U-15G. Our section was held at the top of school building (juz 3rd floor). Thought i am going to be exhausted going up and down, but hey, I am fit for the job! hahaha..

It was fun! I having a good time! because my section was running smoothly, though we started round 1 late, but we are catching up with original schedule by round 2 and we had to give two breaks (one for lunch and one for Zuhur prayer) and still we finished early and manage to take a peak at open section! FIDE Arbiter's Seminar 30th June - 4th July 2010

Sebaik sahaja sukan MASUM berakhir pada 29hb Jun, pagi-pagi pada 30hb saya memulakan perjalanan dari UPM ke Restoran Warisan - tempat FIDE Arbiter seminar bakal berlangsung. Mestilah sasaran dan harapan amat tinggi pada seminar ini memandangkan saya bukan setakat satu-satunya wakil dari Pahang, malah satu-satunya wakil dari Kuantan juga. Dan amat mendebarkan bila rata-rata yang menghadiri seminar bukanlah calang-calang orangnya (lihat sahaja gambar diatas). Agaknya cita-cita terlalu tinggi, bila nama disebut tidak termasuk dalam senarai "confirm" lulus, saya agak terkilan. Sehingga ke hari ini, saya mendoakan yang saya berjaya mendapat sijil FA saya (amin!).

Soalan periksa yang diutarakan agak mengelirukan, dan ada juga yang mana saya gagal mengenalpasti yang mana satu kata kunci bagi menjawab soalan. Paling mengecewakan bila saya menghabiskan satu jam menjawab soalan terakhir berkenaan manual pairing yang mempunyai mata keseluruhan sebanyak 15 markah, saya hanya betul 2 markah sahaja! Agak tertekan bila saya terpaksa membuat dan membetulkan sebanyak 5-6 kali dan hasil tetap mengecewakan!.

Tetapi yang pastinya, selepas kursus tersebut, saya lebih paham berkenaan undang-undang catur (masakan tidak, sehingga ke hari ini, buku kursus berkaitan undang-undang catur tidak lekang dari tatapan), dan berazam untuk mempraktik yang terbaik dimana-mana kejohanan yang saya kendalikan sebagai arbiter. Tentunya banyak yang saya pelajari, dan mungkin saya akan perkenalkan sesuatu yang baru mengikut cadangan Mr Leong di Kuantan ini...(mungkin).

Bronze Medallist Ladies Team - UIA

For the first time after 5 years with GOLD, now UM ended the campaign with SILVER.

For the first time out of blue... we heard aloud at the hall UPSI..UPSI..UPSI with the GOLD

Bronze - UKM Men's Team (sure make the manager Duratul Ain and coach Shamsuddin proud)

Also out of luck this year is UM Men's Team, ending the campaign this year with SILVER (they have won gold for four consecutive years)

The GOLD medallist this year - UIA with coach Nik Farouqi standing proud among them!

After MASUM was over most of the Uni were scouting for new talents, aiming at MSSM level chess players to come and join their Uni. And I am too looking for new talents hoping that UMP will bring medals too next year! Anyone who is interested to join UMP (most of the courses offered here are Engineering) doing diploma or degree, you can submit directly or submit to me the forms so that i can recommend you to the Sports Centre to be forwarded the Admin Department.
